It's the rainy season...

As many of you know, we are in the middle of the rainy season. So...when you are digging in the dirt, it gets messy! Here are some photos of the First Bible Church/St. Paul's Lutheran team from Decatur, Alabama. They had various projects, one of which was to level and sod the soccer court. Needless to say, a lot of digging was involved!

Each day, a different local church came and helped.

So they dug...

And dug...

and dug...
and dug...
and dug...
and dug!
They leveled a muddy field...
and sodded...
after first having to dig it up...
(Notice who is doing the work here!)
and move it up the hill!
They strung fence...

and added a roof on part of the porch!

I have no picture, but Steve and Evan also put shelves up in my kitchen!!!!

(Teams are great for getting things done that my husband doesn't do!)

All kinds of things were learned this week:

Team work helps!

Take advantage of break times!

Always supervise those women!!!
And finally, never run in the mud with boots on!

Power Girls!!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE all of the pics!!
You know Jeff only took 300 while he and Drew were there and we looked at every one of them as soon as they got home! They will never forget the week and can't wait to return again one day!

Thanks again for taking such great care of Jeff's food allergies! YOU ARE AWESOME!

I had every intention of sending you this message soon after arriving home, but better late than never. Just a note to say thanks for your hospitality during our stay with you. Evan and I both had a great time. Evan told me that he was ready to go home, but, at the same time, did not want to leave. I know how he felt.

I don't know who printed it, but the photo of me "supervising those women" mysteriously appeared in the Carpenters' ABF and has been posted on the wall. All I could say was that every group needed a supervisor.

We miss you guys and are looking forward to seeing you soon.

Thanks again!

Scott

Maria,
Thank you so much for you help with the pictures. They came through just great, and the cds came off with out a hitch. Sorry I've not gotten to you before now. I went to NC to help Rachael move, and then to California for a week, and now I'm back. But I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your hospitality with my family. This trip was so special to Jess and Rachael because Rachael will be getting married this winter, so this was their last trip together as daddy and daughter alone together. It made it that much more special. They will always have those special memories together... thanks.
